Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8th, 1967). Her most notable role is Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She also appeared as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy in Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father. Lora Thorne was her mother and therapy therapist. Courtney was just seven years old when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. She has a younger sister named Jennifer, who is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. In the high school, she also performed with Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith's first movie appearance was in the feature film drama Lucas. She was accompanied by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim), and Charlie Sheen. In the mid-80s, she was also in a number of films which included Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she was a star in the box-office movie Chairman Of The Bank, which failed with Carrot Top. She also appeared in Sorority Wars in 2009. Thorne Smith has dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen mate from Melrose Place. In June 2000, the actress was married geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple split in January 2001. On January 1 in 2007, she wed Roger Fishman, president of the company that markets the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008 at 40.
